摘要: This paper describes a method for the laboratory-scale crystallization of orthorhombic polymorph (form II) paracetamol (acetaminophen) from solution. Its structure has been determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography at 298 K (to confirm results data published in 1974) and 123 improve overall accuracy determination). Despite considerable effort many investigators, form II solution, using given 1974 report, elusive. The incentive this is that II, unlike commercial I), undergoes plastic deformation suitable direct compression. Consequently, ability to produce quantity attracted much interest because potential benefits be gained not binders during manufacture tablets. However, until now, only reported bulk preparation grow it as polycrystalline material fused I. study also compares solid-state properties with those I, particular emphasis on (both optical), crystal morphology, thermal behavior, compaction properties.
