摘要: Optical time of flight dynamics neutrals and ions in an ultrafast laser produced zinc plasma generated by irradiating a solid target using 100 fs pulses is investigated. An acceleration observed which arises from internal Coulomb forces acting between charged species the plasma. Some fast recombine with electrons generate neutrals. Plasma plume imaging performed at various ambient pressures indicates adiabatic expansion lower front deceleration higher pressures: front-time (R-t) plot displays linear expansion, shock wave model fits to data 5 Torr better drag model. Furthermore, around intermediate pressure 10 Torr, R-t earlier stages while it later stages. These investigations provide relevant information on expanding pulses.
