摘要: Rayleigh backscattering (RB) and Fresnel reflection (FR) effects can cause severe degradation on the performance of a WDM-PON system utilizing loop-back schemes that provide colorless upstream transmitters. We proposed cross-seeding to overcome these problems also improve utilization efficiency seeding lights. The operation principles two types schemes: mutual shared are discussed in detail for different applications. A generalized formulation crosstalk from RB FR is derived comparing between conventional WDM-PON. It found cross be most beneficial with low gain or at distribution fiber drop fiber. This especially advantageous scheme which light transmitted along separate high power by optical amplification such transmitter kept small. Application examples used demonstrate merits feasibility schemes.
