摘要: The adaptive significance of circadian rhythms has been much speculated about but not subjected to systematic and rigorous empirical investigation. majority the few studies possible organisation suffer from numerous shortcomings that we can now identify based on hindsight gained through three decades experimental work in evolutionary genetics. We present here some major findings this genetics are relevant proper design interpretation experiments aiming at studying organisation. critically review past organisation, suggest a long-term research programme combining selection replicated sets laboratory populations with careful study fitness effects different light regimes such is likely prove far more fruitful than approaches previously followed.
