摘要: Aims: In 2005, a Francisella sp. was isolated from diseased cultured giant abalone (Haliotis gigantea) in Japan. The aim of this study to clarify the taxonomic status Shimane-1 isolate relation four described species. Methods and Results: 16S rRNA gene several housekeeping genes were compared isolates recognized species within genus. DNA–DNA hybridization (DDH) biochemical profile comparison performed with two phylogenetically closely related species, philomiragia noatunensis. Results show that is genetically different all differs phenotypically F. philomiragia F. noatunensis. average DDH similarity F. noatunensis ssp. noatunensis (NCIMB14265T) (DSM7535T) 49·2 61%, respectably, clearly supporting establishment as new genus. Conclusions: phenotypic genetic results presented suggest novel for which name halioticida nov. (=LMG26062T, =DSM23729T) proposed. Significance Impact Study: This clarifies position characteristics mollusc pathogenic species.
