Synchrotron x-ray powder diffraction studies in pulsed magnetic fields

摘要: X-ray powder diffraction experiments under pulsed magnetic fields were carried out at the DUBBLE beamline (BM26B) ESRF. A mobile generator delivered 110kJ to magnet coil, which was sufficient generate peak of 30T. liquid He flow cryostat allowed us vary sample temperature accurately between 8 and 300K. Powder patterns several samples recorded using 21keV monochromatic x-rays an on-line image plate detector. Here we present first results on suppression Jahn-Teller structural distortion in TbVO4 by field. These data clearly demonstrate feasibility x-ray with relatively inexpensive instrumentation.
