A heavy metal tolerant novel bacterium, Bacillus malikii sp. nov., isolated from tannery effluent wastewater

摘要: The taxonomic position of a Gram-stain positive and heavy metal tolerant bacterium, designated strain NCCP-662T, was investigated by polyphasic characterisation. Cells NCCP-662T were observed to be rod filamentous shaped, motile strictly aerobic, grow at 10–50 °C (optimum 30–37 °C) pH range 6–10 7–8). found able tolerate 0–12 % NaCl (w/v) metals (Cr 1200 ppm, Pb 1800 ppm Cu ppm) in tryptic soya agar medium. phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence showed that it belongs genus Bacillus high similarity (98.2 98.0 %, respectively) with type strains niabensis 4T19T halosaccharovorans E33T. chemotaxonomic data major quinone is MK-7; predominant cellular fatty acids are anteiso-C15 :0, iso-C14:0, iso-C16:0 C16:0 iso-C15:0; polar lipids diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol along several unidentified glycolipids, phospholipids lipids. DNA G+C content determined 36.9 mol%. These also support affiliation Bacillus. level DNA–DNA relatedness between B. JCM 16399T 20.5 ± 0.5 %. On basis physiological biochemical characteristics, analyses hybridization data, can clearly differentiated from validly named species thus represents new species, for which name malikii sp. nov. proposed (= LMG 28369T = DSM 29005T 30192T).
