摘要: Directly written embedded structures created within fused silica by a femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser are observed to strongly reflect blue light. Reflection emerges only in direction parallel the polarization axis of writing laser. This anisotropic-effect is caused periodic modulation refractive index amplitude Delta.n ~ 10–2 with characteristic period Lambda 150nm over spot size ~1.5µm. We show that origin anisotropic reflection primary cause other phenomena reported recent experiments.
