摘要: In the early 1900s, competition among hospitals for interns and among medical students good internships led to increasingly offers of internships students. By 1940s, appointments were often made as early as beginning of junior year medical school. Hospitals thus had little information about students' performance, frequently had to make a final decision accept or reject an offer without knowing which other might be forthcoming. From 1945 through 1951, efforts made to enforce uniform date accepting offers. However, still faced with having very short deadlines, compelling them or reject what other Hospitals often had scramble available students, since if was rejected, it too late reach their next preferred candidate. A centralized clearinghouse developed way alleviating this chaos allowing larger role preferences both hospitals. This evolved into current matching program, whose algorithm continues to updated take account changing needs applicants, such growth in number couples who seek 2 positions in same vicinity.
