摘要: Abstract Gobioidei is one of the largest suborders teleost fishes, with nearly 2000 extant species currently recognized. They have a worldwide distribution and show spectacular variety in morphology, ecology, behavior. Despite their importance, phylogenetic relationships among many groups gobioids (including some major lineages) still remain poorly understood. In this study, we analyze sequence data five molecular markers (two mitochondrial three nuclear) averaging 6000 bp for 222 gobioids. Our study first to include both multiple nuclear genes reconstruct comprehensive multilocus phylogeny encompassing most lineages representing overall diversity speciose vertebrate lineages. Two separate datasets are produced used specifically address placement Rhyacichthyidae Odontobutidae, gobioid results strongly support that initial split tree separated clade containing Rhyacichthyidae + Odontobutidae as sister group all other The family Eleotrididae branches off after clade, followed by Butidae Gobiidae. Additionally, several monophyletic confidently identified within two Gobiidae subclades, gobiine-like gobiids gobionelline-like gobiids. Robustness trees inferred here significantly higher than previous studies, hence our provide compelling hypothesis thus far.
