摘要: The objective of this study was to conduct gender- and time-based comparisons postural discomfort responses during prolonged simulated driving. Prolonged driving has been linked with low back disorders (LBD), however underlying mechanisms pain or injury are not well understood despite many efforts delineate the biomechanics automobile seating. Twelve males 12 females were exposed one hour Body postures, body-seat pressure distributions, ratings perceived documented performed. Females exhibited approximately 10 ◦ greater changes in lumbo-pelvic orientation when upright standing postures compared those Attributed gender-based differences body size finding that experienced significantly interface pressures. Many postural, pressure, measures varied over 30 45 minutes, these variations mostly consistent between genders. variables examined as a function gender duration Future biomechanical investigations seating design for more effective LBD prevention should consider potential effects order gain further insight into pain- injury-generating mechanisms.
