摘要: Aim: This in vitro study aimed to compare the time required forremoval, presence of residues restorative material, toothstructure loss and dental surface morphology after removal ofcomposite resin amalgam restorations from occlusal cavitiesin primary molars using conventional high-speed bur andCVDentus ultrasonic diamond tips.Materials methods: A total 37 wereallocated into four groups: Group 1 (n=9)amalgam restorationsremoved bur; 2 (n=10)amalgamrestorations removed tip; 3 (n=8)composite bur;Group 4 (n=10)composite usingultrasonic tip. After being restored, teeth were sectioned andanalyzed through stereoscopic microscope images before andafter restoration removal. The structural was analyzed bysoftware image analysis, an examiner assessed for thepresence residues. Scanning electron microscopy usedto evaluate morphology. Time valueswere compared ANOVA, percentages sampleswith Fisher test. Results: There no statistically significant difference thetooth structure among different methods restorativematerials, as well restorativematerial. However, burs faster than ultrasonicmethod both materials. Differences morphologywere observed between removal, but not related material. Conclusion: Both ultrasonicdiamond tip remove similar amounts tooth structure, but performed with tips ultrasonicdevices is slower.Clinical significance: shows that ultrasonicand removingrestorations generate sound tissue, butthe former slower.
