摘要: In the interim between conception of this issue MRS Bulletin on transparent conducting oxides (TCOs) and its publication, remarkable applications dependent these materials have continued to make sweeping strides. These include advent larger flat-screen high-definition televisions (HDTVs), higher-resolution screens portable computers, increasing importance low emissivity (“low-e”) electrochromic windows, a significant increase in manufacturing thin-film photovoltaics (PV), plethora new hand-held smart devices, all with displays.1-7 Coupled increased TCO application technologies has been renaissance over last two years science materials. This included n-type materials, synthesis true p-type theoretical prediction subsequent confirmation applicability codoping produce ZnO. Considering that 20 much work TCOs was empirical focused ZnO variants InxSn1-xO2, it is quite how field exploded. may be function not only need achieve higher performance levels for but also transition-metal-based electro-optical devices. thus well timed provide an overview rapidly expanding area. Included are articles cover industrial perspective, novel deposition methods, approaches developing both improved basic understanding themselves as models capable predicting limits.
