摘要: Purpose: Exposure to radiation increases the risk of cancer. We have designed a new imaging paradigm, X-ray induced acoustic computed tomography (XACT). Applying this innovative technology breast imaging, an exposure can generate 3D image, which dramatically reduces dose patients when compared conventional CT. Methods: Theoretical calculations are done determine appropriate energy and ultrasound frequency in XACT imaging. A series CT image along coronal plane from patient with calcifications tissue used as source image. HU value based segmentation is distinguish skin, adipose tissue, glandular calcification, chest bone each deposition pixel calculated on type by using GEANT4 Monte Carlo toolkits. The initial pressure rise caused according properties. Then, wave propagation simulated K-WAVE toolkit. Breast images reconstructed recorded time-dependent waves. Results: For large size (16cm diameter at wall), photon central detector determined 20keV 5.5MHz. Approximately 10 times contrast between calcification be acquire clearly identified image. Conclusion: XACT technique takes advantages absorption high ultrasonic resolution. With proposed technology, one potentially reduce current x-ray modalities, while still maintaining spatial
