摘要: The aim of this study was to determine the resistance pattern and type genes vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis from Gharamalek wastewater treatment plant in Tabriz, Iran. Following filtering sewage samples, approximately 300 colonies grew on specific media, which 53 were randomly selected purified using 0.45 microm membranes. membranes placed culture media containing antibiotics isolate Enterococcus. Biochemical tests, antibiogram determining minimum inhibitory concentration with E-test including vancomycin performed. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) carried out genes. All tested samples found be E. faecalis. Antimicrobial susceptibility tests indicated multidrug 98% them highly resistant vancomycin. highest frequency vanA (96%), followed by vanB (4%); vanC not seen among samples. results confirmed that risk exposure antibiotic-resistant pathogens evaluated urban is considerable.
