摘要: Goblet cells are specialized epithelial that essential to the formation of mucus barriers in airways and intestines. Armed with an arsenal defenses, goblet can rapidly respond infection but must balance this response maintaining homeostasis. Whereas cell defenses against bacterial parasitic infections have been characterized, we just beginning understand their responses viral infections. Here, outline what is known about enteric respiratory viruses target cells, direct bystander effects caused by how interactions barrier alter course infection. Together, these factors play a significant role driving pathogenesis disease outcomes.
