摘要: As the accuracy of location mantle earthquakes has increased, suggested thickness seismic zones within decreased1 and special studies are now needed to determine detailed structure these zones. In this study we used homogeneous station method locate occurring at intermediate depths beneath North Island New Zealand, here report that hypocentres could lie on two dipping surfaces about 9 km apart. Using plate tectonics hypothesis may be related top bottom a dipping, brittle zone, either down-going oceanic crust2,3, or some colder region descending lithosphere4.
