摘要: The synthetic uses of molecular iodine are described. This chapter discusses the versatile in heterocyclic synthesis. Iodine is a universal oxidizing agent, mild and nontoxic Lewis acid catalyst, it catalyzes various organic reactions with high efficiency selectivity. Also, acts as an electrophile–nucleophile dual activator reactions. Further applications introduction protecting groups, deprotection, iodocyclization, C–C bond formation, formation heterocycles. It quite clear from growing number emerging publications this field that possibility to utilize technology allows accessing reaction conditions valuable for present focuses on literature reports period 2003–2013.
