摘要: Recent progress in the development of THGEM-based photon detectors confirm validity this novel technology. Detectors made THGEMs, arranged a three layer architecture, with CsI coating on first (acting as reflective photocathode), have been produced and operated laboratory during test beam runs: they provide gain 105 time resolution better than 10 ns. Improvements production THGEMs 300×300 mm2 active area recently introduced leading to uniform response performance similar that provided by small THGEMs. Promising results obtained combining THGEM Micromegas technologies form hybrid MPGD-based detector: prototype has proved stably operate at large variety gas mixtures, including pure CH 4 low ion backflow rate. The RICH-1 detector COMPASS Experiment CERN SPS will be equipped set replacing MWPC-based ones.
