Laryngeal Pacemaker: Activity of the Posterior Cricoarytenoid Muscle (PCM) and the Diaphragm during Respiration in Sheep

摘要: Electromyograms (EMG) of the PCM and diaphragm were evaluated in 6 sedated female sheep. Corresponding pneumatograms recorded simultaneously by means thermocontrolled respiration flowmeter. Evidence was obtained on considerable intra- inter-individual differences duration respiratory cycles as well PCM- diaphragmatic activity. Most periods showed either a phase coincidence between diaphragm, or leading edge about 40-80 ms posticus muscle. Due to this minimal shift, myogram seems be valuable trigger for an external stimulation unit bilateral recurrent nerve palsy.
