Nuclear Fission and Structure Studies with Gammasphere

摘要: The γ-rays emitted in the spontaneous fission of 252Cf has been studied with Gammasphere. yields correlated Mo-Ba pairs binary 0–10 neutron emission have remesured an uncompressed cube. previous hot mode 8–10 seen Mo-B a split is found to be smaller than earlier results but still present. New 0n SF are reported. By gating on light charged particles detected ΔE-E detectors mounted inside Gammasphere chamber and γ — coincidences Gammasphere, relative alpha ternary zero 6n observed for first time. Half-lives (T1/2) 7 states which decay by delayed transitions were determined from coincidences. High spin neutron-rich 104,106Mo nuclei investigated. known ground state band, one-phonon two-phonon γ-vibrational bands two-quasiparticle extended high-spin. one- γ-bands remarkably close energies. Several new quasiparticle both nuclei. In addition their triaxial shape large deformation, high j two quasi-proton quasi-neutron orbitals Fermi surface provide necessary conditions chiral bands. Two 106Mo all characteristics doublets, such even-even nucleus.
