摘要: Equilibrium binding studies and viscosity experiments are described that characterize the interaction of delta- lambda-[Ru(o-phen)3]2+ with calf thymus DNA. The mode these compounds to DNA is a matter controversy. Both isomers [Ru(o-phen)3]2+ were found bind but weakly DNA, constants 4.9 (+/- 0.3) x 10(4) M-1 2.8 0.2) determined for delta lambda isomers, respectively, at 20 degrees C in solution containing 5 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.1) 10 NaCl. We quantity log K/delta [Na+] equals 1.37 1.24 respectively. Application polyelectrolyte theory allows us use values show quantitatively both essentially electrostatically bound Viscosity isomer does not alter relative any appreciable extent, while decreases From results, we conclude neither binds by classical intercalation.
