摘要: A new measurement method for through-the-wall detection of life signs is proposed hereinafter. The analyzes the phase modulation that a sinusoidal signal, generated by means proper continuous-wave microwave transceiver, undergoes when reflected chest periodic displacement associated with breathing. It takes advantage suitable spatial smoothing decorrelation strategy applied to traditional algorithm MUltiple SIgnal Classification (MUSIC), mandated single out spectral components received signal. With respect other solutions, already available in literature and exploiting either discrete-time Fourier transform, or matched filters, standard singular value decomposition, assures competitive performance detecting respiratory activity from signal effective noise/clutter rejection. results several tests both simulated actual scenarios, i.e., people behind walls furnished room, prove efficacy reliability also presence critical conditions such as low signal-to-noise ratios shallow
