摘要: Abstract This article gives a survey of phase transitions in adsorbed films on well defined surfaces square and rectangular symmetry the lattice. The discussion concentrates effects periodic changes adsorbate–substrate potential structure thermodynamic properties films. Different theoretical approaches are briefly reviewed, with an emphasis those which explicitly take into account final corrugation surface potential. Several aspects statistical mechanical description layers, such as order–disorder, melting, commensurate–incommensurate monolayer connected formation multilayer (layering wetting) presented. Theoretical is followed by presentation numerous experimental computer simulation studies for various systems. Then molecular adsorbates different substrates discussed.
