摘要: The Drosophila adult epidermis displays a stereotyped pattern of bristles and other types sensory organs (SOs). Its generation requires the proneural achaete (ac) scute (sc) genes. In imaginal wing disc, anlage for most thoracic epidermis, their products accumulate in groups cells, clusters, whose distribution prefigures SOs. These proteins then induce emergence SO mother cells (SMCs). Here, we show that extramacrochaetae (emc) gene, an antagonist function, is another agent contributes to positioning. emc expressed complex evolving pattern. SMCs appear not only within clusters but also minima expression. When one these spatial restrictions eliminated, by ubiquitously expressing ac-sc, still emerge emc. addition, restriction reduced decreasing expression, many ectopic relatively even spaced less constant Thus, heterogeneous product elements define positions where arise. probably refines SMC (and SO) positioning reducing both size number can become SMCs.
