摘要: Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often excel on visual search and crowding tasks; however, inconsistent findings suggest that this ‘islet of ability’ may not be characteristic the entire spectrum. We examined whether performance these tasks changed as a function motor proficiency in children varying levels ASD symptomology. Children high symptomology outperformed all others complex tasks, but only if their skills were rated at, or above, age expectations. For task, superior exhibited enhanced target discrimination, whereas those poor experienced deficits. These resolve some discrepancies literature.
