摘要: Abstract We report the preparation and characterization of macrocapsules coated by a polymeric membrane layer for stable encapsulation quorum quenching (QQ) bacteria ( Rhodococcus sp. BH4). As new macrocapsule manufacturing platform, phase inversion method was adopted to cover an alginate core with microporous poly(vinylidene) fluoride (PVDF), polyethersulfone (PES) or polysulfone (PSf). Scanning electron microscopy revealed that successfully formed on outside alginate-QQ matrix. Although contact organic solvent during step caused minor cell damage, QQ activity could be reactivated through cultivation. The entrapping showed excellent anti-biofouling capacity in continuous bioreactor (MBR) fed even real wastewater. were capable maintaining more safely than previously reported beads under harsher environmental conditions such as wastewater presence chelating agent (EDTA) which can disintegrate Particularly, PSf pronounced preventing from leaking macrocapsules. This study is expected bring bacterial closer being practical solution biofouling problem MBR treatment.
