摘要: Infectious diseases remain a major cause of morbidity and mortality throughout the world, including United States. The immune system represents primary host defense against pathogenic bacteria, fungi, parasites. first line is comprised primarily polymorphnuclear granulocytes (PMNs), macrophages, natural killer (NK) cells, cytotoxic lymphocytes. Upon activation, these cells can destroy eliminate microorganisms. possibility augmenting has increased dramatically during past two decades with discovery development cytokines. immunomodulatory effects colony-stimulating factors (CSFs) on selected leukocyte populations have received increasing attention recently.
