摘要: Palearctic species of Culicoides (Diptera, Ceratopogonidae), in particular the Obsoletus and Pulicaris complexes, were identified as putative vectors bluetongue virus serotype 8 (BTV-8) on ruminant farms during epizootic Germany from 2006 to 2009. BTV may cause severe morbidity mortality ruminants sporadically South American camelids (SAC). However, fauna spp. SAC has not been investigated. Therefore, ceratopogonid was monitored three with BTV-seropositive Germany. Black-light traps set up pastures stables summer 2008 autumn Additionally, ceratopogonids caught emergence mounted llama dung dung-free pasture spring After morphological identification, selected samples analysed for BTV-RNA by real-time RT-PCR. The effects variables 'location', 'temperature' 'humidity' number black-light modelled using multivariable Poisson regression. In total, 26 six other genera biting midges identified. most abundant collected both outdoors indoors belonged (77.4%) (16.0%) complexes. peaked summer, while no winter months. Daily collections mainly influenced location depended interaction temperature humidity. traps, complex predominated collections. summary, absence any together differences pathogenesis BTV-8 compared suggests a negligible role spread virus. Although provide similar suitable habitats than farms, results suggest that geographic meteorological factors had stronger influence abundance animal species.
