摘要: The vertical distribution of alkaline earth elements (AEEs) was measured in a mesotrophic lake, Lake Biwa, Japan. By comparing the profiles elements, it noticed that dissolved barium concentration markedly decreased bottom layer during stagnation stage lake. This characteristic disappeared circulation but appeared repeatedly succeeding stage. Such periodic variation profile contrasts with result other AEEs were uniformly distributed without regard to depth or lake water circulation. Adsorption onto synthetic hydrous manganese oxide (HMO) examined water. results suggest specific observed Biwa caused by selective adsorption element HMO, which is naturally produced at
