摘要: Abstract Corncob is an agro-industrial waste available in large quantities several countries, including Brazil, which deserves to be better and/or properly used. This work evaluates the use of corncob as a source cellulose obtain nanocrystals by acid hydrolysis order material suitable reinforcement agent manufacture nanocomposites. The was performed at 45 °C for 30, 60 and 90 min, using 15 mL H 2 SO 4 (9.17 M) each gram cellulose. resulting (CNC) were characterized crystallinity index, morphology thermal stability, their reinforcing capability evaluated polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) polymeric matrix. CNC endowed CNC/PVA composites significantly improved tensile strength 140.2% when only 9% (wt.%) incorporated. presented needle-shaped nature, high (83.7%), good stability (around 185 °C), average length ( L 210.8 ± 44.2 nm diameter D 4.15 ± 1.08 nm, giving aspect ratio / around 53.4 ± 15.8. results show that more filler .
