摘要: Hookworm infection is a recognized precipitating factor for iron deficiency anaemia (reviewed by SCHAD & WARREN 1990). In developing societies where hookworm prevalent diets are marginal in quality and fertility rates high it probable that during pregnancy significant contributor to the burden of disease women. Direct estimation not possible using currently available data. This analysis pursues simpler goal providing an order magnitude estimate number women who both pregnant infected with burdens likely be associated disease. A basic sensitivity undertaken data sub-Saharan Africa before attempting global estimate. (excerpt)
