Experiences of the families concerning organ donation of a family member with brain death

摘要: Background: In recent years, the lack of organ for transplantation has resulted in health planners and authorities all countries, including Iran, paying serious attention to issue. Despite above-mentioned fact, families with a member affected by brain death are not interested donation. Objective: This study is aimed at making an investigation into decision-making process donation death. Also, research investigating how deterrent facilitating factors can be made. Materials Methods: The current qualitative descriptive exploratory approach. Data were collected through unstructured interviews 10 family members who gave consent their 2012. Purposeful sampling processes began March 2012 lasted up June Simultaneously, thematic approach was used analyzing data. Results: analysis led fi nding 24 categories 11 themes, which fell two categories: factors. ve main themes included prohibiting that shock, hope recovery, unknown process, confl ict opinions, worrying association. six humanistic desires, immortality, culture making, satisfaction deceased, assurance, eternal honor. Conclusion: ndings indicated there ambiguity different interpretations on also showed using experiences donator provide practical applied solutions facilitate solve problems faced care system.
