摘要: This paper focuses on the causes and impacts of flood events between 1400 1953 in estuaries rivers Meuse, Rhine Schelde, further south along Belgian coast. Floods this delta area have been caused by natural mechanisms. In particular, weather extremes such as storm surges interacting with tidal dynamics reshaping for centuries. Therefore, most important are briefly described and, applying criteria to analyse their using additional characteristics, they furthermore compared amongst themselves. Because close interaction man nature area, several floods had purely human causes. These assessed criteria. From analysis all major discussed, it may be concluded that occurring during were common, but warfare greatest impact environment.
