摘要: Abstract: The apparent high level of resistance Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) and variant (vCJD) prions to inactivation by conventional means device reprocessing poses an infection prevention challenge a hospital’s central sterilization department. This chapter will focus on prion methods for instrument that are currently recommended public health agencies the iatrogenic transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (TSE) transmission. Important factors such as cleaning/ decontamination efficacy steel quality discussed. Research continues evaluate potential use alternative sterilizing agents inactivation. Additionally, strategies removal or bacterial endotoxin discussed briefly.
