摘要: We previously described the over-expression of nucleoside diphosphate kinase A (NDKA) in tumours and serum from colorectal cancer (CRC) patients, suggesting its use as biomarker. In this study we evaluated diagnostic accuracy NDKA to detect advanced neoplasia (CRC or adenomas). Furthermore, performance was compared with faecal immunochemical test (FIT). The population included a case-control cohort screening (511 asymptomatic first-degree relatives CRC patients that underwent colonoscopy FIT). Serum elevated (p = 0.002). cohort, levels were higher for adenomas (p = 0.010) (p = 0.006) no neoplasia. Moreover, associated severe characteristics (≥3 lesions, size ≥ 1 cm villous component). Setting specificity 85%, showed sensitivity 30.19% 29.82% neoplasia, respectively. combined FIT (100 ng/mL cut-off) detected 45.28% 49.12% sensitivity, close 90%. combination can improve detection mainly lesions located on proximal colon, individuals family-risk.
