摘要: A time-of-flight resonance ionization mass spectrometer is described which has been used to measure isotopic ratios of the nine naturally occurring xenon isotopes, with a precision less than 0.5% for major in samples 10-12 cm3 stp xenon. The essentially limited by counting statistics. linear discrimination up 0.4% per u, favouring light exhibited and may be velocity effect at detector. No effects nonlinear are seen. sensitivity instrument, detection limit 3*104 atoms particular isotope xenon, agrees well theoretical predictions comparable that best electron bombardment instruments. Use lasers higher duty cycle and/or cold finger concentrate sample ionizing volume could increase two or three orders magnitude. Interferences due non-resonant hydrocarbons can measured tuning off but negligible normal operation.
