摘要: Abstract Apoptosis is coordinated by members of the caspase family aspartic acid‐specific proteases. To date, over 400 substrates for apoptosis‐associated caspases have been reported and there are likely to be hundreds more yet discovered. Global approaches toward identifying proteins cleaved during apoptosis now possible give a complete perspective on alterations proteome that occur this complex process. This chapter outlines methods used successfully visualize demolition phase two‐dimensional gel electrophoresis coupled with mass spectrometry. It discusses techniques generate cell‐free extracts from human cells details how these can activate caspases. The analysis then described, followed identify changes apoptosis.
