摘要: Summary Approximately 50 years ago, pharmacogenetics was described as a new field of medicine that may explain human drug action. Anaesthesia played key role in the early investigations. An understanding how person’s DNA influences metabolism and effectiveness allow individually tailored prescriptions, improving outcomes safety. The ultimate goal pharmacogenetic research is to offer personalised improve both efficacy medication patient safety by helping predict risk adverse outcomes. In this review, we present selection historical landmarks where anaesthesia has been catalyst for development.
