摘要: The prevalence of ischaemic or infective delayed wound healing in amputations for peripheral vascular disease may vary from 18 to 40%. A prospective trial test the efficacy 12 h pre-operative preparation with 10% povidone-iodine was performed a 1-year period, during which time 80 consecutive were on 73 patients. Accrual treatment arm incomplete and principally due extreme nursing shortages. Failure randomization resulted study being analysed as if it retrospective. Infection occurred 14 (23%) unprepared limbs but not found any 19 prepared (P less than 0.05). 11 34 had distal ulcers moist gangrenous lesions; however, 15 similar lesions no infection 0.025). reduction breakdown significant hospitalization prior commencement prosthetic fitting 0.001). Pre-operative antiseptic played an important role following amputation disease, particularly those patients whose required because contaminated lesions. However, these preliminary results should be confirmed by further study.
