Aluminum-containing antacids as a cause of idiopathic Parkinson's disease.

摘要: The mechanism of pathogenesis idiopathic Parkinson's disease (PD) is unknown. In a study 200 PD patients and age- sex-matched controls, Strang noted marked statistically significant higher incidence ulcers (diagnosed by X-ray or surgery) in the compared to controls (14% 4%). These results have been discussed but never explained. Studies shown increased concentrations aluminum substantia nigra controls. Aluminum thought be cellular toxin. Here I suggest that aluminum, particular aluminum-containing antacids may contribute PD.
