摘要: Particles were collected from the dilute portion of neutrally buoyant hydrothermal plumes four Mid-Atlantic Ridge sites (MARK, 23°N; TAG, 26°N; Broken Spur, 29°N; Lucky Strike, 37°N). Comparison data proximal portions TAG (Atlantic) [German et al., 1991; this study] and North Cleft (Pacific) [Feely 1994] show that oxyanion (e.g., V) scavenging is more efficient at possibly due to a higher proportion Fe removed as sulfides and/or vigorous mixing in high energy plume. Chalcophile elements Cu) two stage removal. They are precipitated during initial vent fluids with seawater sedimented In plume they scavenged by oxyhydroxides. The REE continued lower levels 1993 samples, compared 1988 samples 1990] suggesting amount related particle recycling.
