摘要: The abrupt origin and rapid diversification of the flowering plants presents what Darwin called ‘an abominable mystery’. Floral was a key factor in rise plants, but molecular underpinnings floral diversity remain mysterious. To understand biology underlying morphological evolution, genetic model systems are essential for rigorously testing gene function interactions. Most eudicots, while monocots models almost entirely restricted to grass family. Likely because flowers diminutive specialized wind pollination, grasses have not been major focus evo-devo research. However, do exhibit any raucous characteristic orchids, there is abundant variation Here, we discuss flower diversity, review known about developmental genetics this diversity. In particular, on three aspects evolution: (1) evolution novel organ identity – lodicule; (2) lemma awns their diversity; (3) convergent sexual differentiation. combination family at large spread across provides powerful framework attaining deep understanding evolution.
