摘要: This thesis presents the design and implementation of a prototype for drive-by-wire system in road vehicles. The extends an existing (non-fault-tolerant) prototype with fault tolerance by implementing distributed brake system dual modular redundancy for central control unit. steering is made redundant utilizing distributed brakes using braking capability on either side car. will cause car to turn corresponding direction, i.e., steer-by-brakes. A hardware monitor designed and implemented units. purpose monitor is to restart unit case failure. The non–fault-tolerant being used as reference when analysing the reliability safety tolerant design. An analysis verify lowest failure rate that must tolerate order meet target reliability 99.999% after 10 years. follows guidelines standard functional road vehicles, ISO 26262.
