Built Environment Factors, Psychosocial Factors and Diabetes Mellitus: A South Indian Study

摘要: We assessed the contribution of selected built environment factors to body weight in a pilot study urban Visakhapatnam, South India. Participants were 123 men and 60 women (age 16 69 years; BMI 17.3–30.5) who had lived area for at least 3 years. Individuals with lower tended be (a) working people (non-home based—working away from home), (b) non-vegetarians, (c) physically active (activity mostly related work), (d) taking afternoon siestas. Psychological stress, quality life wellbeing data used an earlier individuals diabetes mellitus. The measures included depression, anxiety, energy, positive wellbeing, satisfaction, impact, social worry (Diabetes life). Guttman’s Smallest Space Analysis (SSA) suggested relationships among psychosocial can accounted by one facet three axial sets variables worry, anxiety depression. SSAs on male participants that fasting blood glucose most closely associated energy levels. In female participants, somewhat lesser extent anxiety. both sexes, age was wellbeing. Also age, weight, levels each other. results support importance understanding impact diabetic designing prevention strategies.
