摘要: Abstract Cancer prevention sometimes referred to as tertiary or chemoprevention makes use of specific xenobiotics drugs prevent, delay, retard the development cancer. Over last two decades so cancer has made significant strides. For example, lung through smoking cessation; cervical regular Pap smear tests; colon screening colonoscopy; and prostate reductions by prostate-specific antigen measurements in conjunction with examinations. The seminal epidemiological observation that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs) prevent other cancers provided impetus develop novel approaches against To end, a number “designer drugs” have been synthesized are different stages development, evaluation, deployment. Some include cyclooxygenase-2-specific inhibitors (coxibs), nitric oxide-releasing NSAIDs (NO-NSAIDs NONO-NSAIDs), hydrogen sulfide-releasing NSAIDs, modulators lipoxygenase pathway, prostanoid receptor blockers, chemokine antagonists. In addition these agents, there also host naturally occurring compounds/micronutrients chemopreventive properties. This chapter reviews classes compounds, their utility mechanism(s) action background mediators link inflammation
