Spin cast thin polymer interlayers in polymer light-emitting diodes: Thickness control through use of cross-linkable polymers

摘要: The effect of very thin polymer interlayers made either acid-initiated cross-linkable polyfluorenes or the parent non-cross-linkable polyfluorenes, on top poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) doped with polystyrene sulfonic acid, efficiency light-emitting diodes based three different electroluminescent (EL) polymers is studied. We find that use leads to formation a thickness not exceeding 1nm and their diode characteristics directly correlated energetic position frontier levels, indicating other effects, such as interfacial morphology contact area, which may depend specific interlayer/EL combination, play significant role.
