Structure-activity relationships of nitro and methyl-nitro derivatives of indoline, indole, indazole and benzimidazole in Salmonella typhimurium.

摘要: The mutagenic activities of eleven nitro derivatives and N-methyl-nitro indoline, indole, indazole benzimidazole were investigated in Salmonella TA98 TA100. presence a group at C4 or C7 resulted only weakly nonmutagenic compounds, while C2, C5 C6 usually measurable activity the non-N-methylated compounds. Methylation ring nitrogen reduced these nitroheterocyclics except 2-nitro-benzimidazole, which better than 300-fold increase activity. A proposed mechanism for increased obtained by methylation imidazole nitrogens may provide insights into reasons potent mutagenicities observed several similarly methylated cooked-food mutagens.
