摘要: Reverse proxies are key performance elements of a content distribution network (CDN) and operate as intermediaries between client upstream (or origin) server traffic. A typical reverse proxy aims to distribute user workload, more or less equally, among multiple servers. To keep the pace with growing demand for content, CDNs regularly expand their capacity by adding extra servers handle increased However, distributing traffic without consideration energy features machines keeping active all time can reduce efficiency drastically because seasonal variation This outcome is highly undesirable environmental economic concerns. Policy-based management an approach large-scale that helps simplify administration through use event-action rules. We investigate formulation selection policies improve system while maintaining desired service-level objectives. In particular, we formulate four energy-efficient varying complexity performance, evaluate them using realistic data obtained from testbed. The results also contrasted common load methods ship popular open-source show advantages proposed policy generation strategies.
