摘要: Non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NA-AION) is the most common type of neuropathy. Although findings sudden onset segmental visual field defect, initially with disc edema a few peripapillary hemorrhages and later on atrophy were reported in very early literature, pathogenesis management NA-AION had been focus continuing controversy. To explain its pathogenesis, multiple theories have postulated, varying from some degree logic to quite preposterous. was referred past as “arteriosclerotic” variety, distinguish it arteritic AION associated giant cell arteritis (GCA). It seems Uhthoff 1924 first described three cases arteriosclerotic [1]. The next major description be by Francois et al. 1956 [2]; they this clinical entity under title “vascular pseudopapilitis”, stressed etiological importance small vessel disease.
